NETS appoints industry stalwart, Alex Woo as CEO of BCS
Singapore, 17 March 2025 – Network for Electronic Transfers (NETS), Singapore’s leading payment services group, announces the appointment of Mr Alex Woo as CEO of Banking Computer Services Private Limited (BCS) effective today. BCS is NETS’ wholly owned subsidiary, and is an entity within the NETS Group, which manages and operates the national clearing and payment infrastructure in Singapore, including Fast And Secure Transfers (FAST), Interbank Giro, eGiro, PayNow and SGQR Central Repository. Prior to Mr Woo’s joining, the role was covered by Mr Lawrence Chan, interim CEO of BCS, in addition to his role as Group CEO of NETS.
Mr Woo is a seasoned and dynamic leader in the technology industry, with over 30 years of experience. Formerly Technology Chief Operating Officer, Managing Director of DBS, he possesses extensive experience across Technology, Operations and Project Management, and has led large-scale programmes, spanning technology resiliency and uplift as well as complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
Prior to his last role at DBS, he served as Chief Executive Officer, Managing Director DBS Technology India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of DBS Group and the bank’s first overseas technology development centre for over four years and as Director of Technology & Operations, Managing Director, PT DBS Bank Indonesia for close to six years.
Mr Lawrence Chan, Group CEO of NETS, shared, “Mr Woo is a veteran technology leader with a proven track record in driving transformative initiatives and leading organisational change. His strong technical background and experience in leading large-scale industry projects will be valuable in steering BCS in the next chapter, allowing us to better serve the financial institutions and end consumers.

In the earlier part of his career, Mr Woo has worked in JPMorgan Chase and Hewlett-Packard. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Henley Management College and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Information Systems from the National University of Singapore.
